The Ball Chair
Do you have persistent back pain? Does your regular office chair hurt your back after long hours working in it, and make it hard for you to get up and drive home? An ergonomic alternative called the Ball Chair might be the answer to your problems, and make your drive home at the end of the day a more pleasant one.

The ball chair looks funny, its shape is definitely out of this world, and you might ask “Are you crazy?” But legitimately, they are a good design that really does give better lower back support while sitting where you need it. It goes further to encourage good posture. With it, at the end of the day, you may find relief without aches and pains.

In selecting the right ball chair for your situation, you will want to consider the following guidelines:
    - Ball chairs need to be the right size to be a benefit to you. You will want to be able to have your feet on the floor, your knees at a right angle, and your arms relaxing and resting on your desk. If this isn’t the case, look at other sizes that will make this a reality.
    - Ball chairs are inflatable. Make sure your choice can be inflated or deflated to the point where your weight doesn’t bottom out into the chair, though does offer comfort to you. If it is too hard, try deflating it slightly.

The ball chair keeps your back and stomach muscles moving. The slight bouncing it gives is responsible for this. It leads to better back support in the long run as well from your own muscles.

With the ball chair, you gain a greater opportunity to maintain good posture. That means less back problems. While a ball chair may provide a great ergonomic solution to your back problems, it’s always wise to get medical advice for any extended pain, as the causes could root in something that isn’t related to posture as much as it is related to disk or spinal problems. Should that be the case, it’s possible any sitting could cause further damage.
